The artists selected in 2025

Ben GROSSMAN
(CAN)

Canadian experimental musician Ben Grossman works at the intersection of musical traditions and contemporary creation. A specialist in the hurdy-gurdy and immersive sound textures, he explores improvisation, electroacoustic music, and in situ composition. His approach integrates cultural heritage with innovative sound research, creating works that blur the boundaries between performance, ritual, and soundscape.

Nathan YAFFE
(USA/QC)

Montreal-based dance, theater, and video artist Nate Yaffe explores the body’s “self-de-correction” to liberate its physical impulses. His works, such as the video diptych the_johnsons and the stage play Dunno wat u kno, navigate between intimacy, virtuality, and queer resistance. As a performer, he regularly collaborates with Montreal choreographers and was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for his role in Occupied Territories. He is also the creator of This is actively built, a series of queer artist residencies.

Nathan YAFFE
(USA/QC)

Mariagiulia Serantoni is a dance artist, performer, and choreographer who explores the deep connection between sound and the body. Her work is inspired by the idea of listening to the “sound” of movement, both physical and emotional. She uses sound, noise, and energy as tools to imagine new ways of relating to ourselves, to others, and to the world. Through concepts such as frequency, distortion, and tuning, she creates bodily perspectives, akin to those of science fiction, worlds generated by the body and for the body, which invite us to consider other ways of existing in the world and with others.

Andrea PAROLIN
(ITA/DEU)

Born in Milan in 1988, Andrea Parolin is a sound and image engineer trained at the School of Cinema, Television, and New Media in Milan. After working as a boom operator and mixer for television, film, and documentaries, he moved to Berlin in 2013 and began developing musical and theatrical sound projects. He continues to work as a freelance sound recordist in Germany and Italy, tirelessly exploring the secrets of live sound.
