This class invites participants to experience dance as a space of mystery, encounter, and transformation. Beyond norms, it celebrates singularities and opens new possibilities. Movement becomes a sensitive language, nourished by intimacy, complicity, and sensuality.

This workshop is reserved for members of the LGBTQIA2+ community.

Rozenn LECOMTE

Back in winter

Influenced by 1980s rock culture, punk, and nonconformist communities, Rozenn Lecomte develops a political dance that celebrates rebellion and bodily solidarity. Her pieces, rooted in improvisation, blend original texts, eclectic soundscapes, and relational gestures to highlight bodies in resistance. Active on Montreal’s underground scene, she is also the creator of the podcast Fil conducteur, where she explores contemporary dance issues with her peers.

Ariane LEVASSEUR

Based in Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang / Montréal, Ariane Levasseur is a performer-creator trained in dance at UQAM, where she received the William Douglas Award (2022). She has collaborated with Caroline Laurin-Beaucage (Habiter nos mémoires, 2021, and a new creation in 2025), co-created this is not moving (Tangente, 2023), and performed in Catherine Gaudet’s ODE (2024) as well as Danièle Desnoyers’ Soulèvement (2025). Her work explores resistance, the poetics of protest, and fragments of intimacy through movement.

Emilie-Claude ST-AMOUR MAILLÉ

Emilie-Claude St-Amour Maillé is a contemporary dance artist and teacher, trained at UQAM and Cégep de Saint-Laurent. Her career bridges creation, performance, and various styles (burlesque, jazz, classical). A sensitive and creative teacher, she tailors her approach to each group. As a cultural mediator at Circuit-Est, she develops projects where dance becomes a tool for education, social connection, and personal transformation. Passionate about engaging audiences, she promotes teaching that combines technique, expression, and inclusivity.
